After breakfast, visit the Al-Kadhimiya Mosque (tombs of Imam Musa al-Kadhim and Imam Muhammad al-Jawad), one of the holiest Shia shrines in Baghdad.

Continue to the National Museum of Iraq to see Mesopotamian artifacts, then visit the iconic Al-Shaheed (Martyr’s) Monument.

Stroll along Mutanabbi Street and browse the traditional book market and souqs for souvenirs and local culture.

After breakfast, check out and drive south towards Najaf (approximately 6-hour drive). Stop in Kufa to visit the Great Mosque of Kufa, a historic mosque associated with Imam Ali.

Continue to Najaf, check in to your hotel, then visit the Shrine of Imam Ali (the burial site of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the first Shia Imam). Spend the afternoon in prayer and reflection at this sacred site.

Overnight: Najaf.

Spend the morning at the Imam Ali Shrine for additional ziyarat and prayers.

Visit Wadi us-Salaam (the Valley of Peace), the world’s largest cemetery, revered for its many saintly burials and historical significance.

Afternoon at leisure: stroll the old Najaf bazaar or visit nearby shrines at your own pace.

Depart Najaf after breakfast and drive to Karbala (approx. 2-hour drive).

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, then proceed to the Imam Husayn Shrine (site of Imam Husayn ibn Ali’s martyrdom). Pray at the holy shrine and take in the spiritual atmosphere of Karbala’s grand courtyard and golden dome.

Overnight: Karbala.

Visit the Imam Husayn Shrine again in the morning to offer final prayers at the shrine grille (zarih) and reflect on the pilgrimage.

Walk to the Al-Abbas Shrine (tomb of Imam Husayn’s brother Abbas), another key holy site in Karbala, and pay respects at its majestic golden dome.

Conclude your spiritual journey. Depart for your onward journey or return flight home.
